1. What Are Cookies & Local Storage?
Cookies are small alphanumeric text files stored on your computer, smartphone, or tablet when you visit a website. They allow the platform to remember your actions and preferences (such as language selection, screen responsiveness, and session tokens) over a specified period.
In addition to standard HTTP cookies, we may use related browser technologies such as localStorage and session markers to preserve your customized interface preferences without transmitting sensitive identifying records to external ad exchanges.
2. How AION Uses Cookies
AION uses cookies to ensure our digital platforms operate reliably, to safeguard corporate inquiry transmissions, to measure the aggregate performance of our climate briefings, and to ensure our professional communications reach relevant industry decision makers.
We do not employ invasive surveillance trackers or sell telemetry profiles to commercial data brokers.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
We classify cookies into four distinct functional tiers:
A. Strictly Necessary Cookies (Always Active)
These cookies are indispensable for you to navigate our websites and utilize core security features. Without these cookies, services such as secure contact forms, language routing, and CSRF protection cannot be provided. These do not require user consent under GDPR, PDPA, or Australian privacy law.
B. Performance & Analytics Cookies
These cookies collect aggregated, pseudonymized information regarding how visitors interact with our content, which carbon portfolio pages are most frequently consulted, and whether visitors encounter broken links. This data enables us to improve platform speed and navigation ergonomics.
C. Functional Cookies
Functional cookies allow our platform to remember choices you make (such as whether you expanded specific steps in the AION 5-Step Carbon Quality Matrix, or your chosen language preference between English, Bahasa Indonesia, and Chinese).
D. Targeting & Professional Outreach Cookies
With your consent, we deploy professional outreach cookies (such as the LinkedIn Insights tag and X analytics pixel) to measure the effectiveness of our executive thought leadership campaigns. These cookies help us confirm that advisory briefings reach corporate sustainability directors and institutional carbon buyers.
